PHBC creates COVID-19 safe zones in nursing and elderly homes so life for staff and residents can continue

Masks and social distancing make both staff and elderly residents feel uncomfortable. Therefore, PHBC creates safe zones that require everyone to undergo COVID-19 testing before entry. After a continuous stay of 14 days inside a safe zone, staff and residents can remove their masks and interact with each other without protection.

Safe options include live-in arrangements, buildings that are rented exclusively for staff as well as a dedicated transportation and shopping service for those staff members who want to commute to their homes every day.

PHBC anonymously tracks movements of people to assure that safe options remain safe. For those staff members who choose a safe option, PHBC administers financial incentives and manages reimbursements from public health agencies and insurance providers for operators. For this purpose, all incidents in a facility, including COVID-19 testing and GPS tracking, are stored in an immutable record on a blockchain to give everyone assurance that no breach of security has occurred.

The PHBC workgroup for nursing and elderly homes is open to select operators by invitation.
